Factory24 is an Afrolynk project launched as an educational community that provides young entrepreneurs a platform to stimulate their businesses. In Kenya, Factory24 has partnered with Fie Labs to combine various resources offered to entrepreneurs through bootcamps & trainings opportunities, offering mentoring sessions and conducting workshops.

Factory24 is an open source project and our goal for the project is to support young entrepreneurs, developers and other leaders to maximize the potential in their businesses and themselves. As they learn about entrepreneurship and technology we support them with mentors who volunteer to share what they’ve learned with them and thus the community. Because Factory24 is open source, participants are actively helping build the project every time they contribute by becoming a student, becoming a mentor, giving feedback, facilitating courses, asking questions or reporting bugs.

Program Tracks

The Factory24 program tracks are not just tailored to all types of students, they’re designed to maximize the efficiency of the learning process to ensure all students finish each course with hands on experience.

• In the Advance Training track, participants may be offered scholarships, be paired with mentors and/or skilled trainers to develop their skills extensively within a short period of time, in which they will have the opportunity to develop new skills along with enhancing existing skill-knowledge. Participants will also be offered the opportunity to work on real world projects, and supported by their mentors during this process.
• The Specialized Training track, attracts participants interested in developing skills to find solutions in one of our partner focus area. Big data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things / Smart Machines, Blockchain, Augmented Reality /Virtual Reality, Connectivity (Next Gen - 5G), Cloud & Quantum computing, API platforms (integration), Robotics & Automation, Instant Payments and appropriate technologies (USSD).
• The Apprenticeship track is a project based approach with Mentorship, where the participants will dive into real world tasks, and work directly on solutions requested by partners. They will be guided by skilled trainers, and mentors provided by Afrolynk and partners. After completion, participants to be referred to start-ups or developers.
• The last track, Networking, is a network of the Afrolynk Factory24 Developer alumni who acts as an on-demand service of employees for employers and startups. Building continuous interaction with Afrolynk Factory24 programme and developing 21st century solutions in areas such as Big data & Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things(IOT) / Smart Machines, Blockchain, Augmented Reality /Virtual Reality etc.

Factory24 is always Sourcing Projects that are building the next generation solutions to work with. Course Facilitation & Certification Options

Over the course of each program, Factory24 runs facilitator led courses to explore the subject deeper. Although its self paced, being instructor led ensures the learning process is very hands on. weekly tasks are assigned to ensure this throughout the course. As a course participant you’ll join the dedicated course whatsapp group to facilitate communication between students and the facilitator.

At the end of the course period, participants have the option to apply for a course completion certificate.
